Wolfhetan Bandbiography

The band was found in 2001 and consists of :

Drahcir: Guitars
E.H.: Drums
Wolfhetan: Bass, Guitars und Vocals

In 2004 we recorded our debut “Entrückung” in Obscure Infinity studios Eisenach/ Thüringen. After some delays with the layout it got finally released via Irminsul Records in 2006.
We are now rehearsing the songs for our second album. Probably in the summer of 2007 we are going to record it. The new compositions are more complex and even more epic and we think that we have found our very own style with them.
We have already written songs for the third album, and we are going to work them out after the recording session.
Our style is surely based on Black Metal, but we are open for other styles like Death Metal or Neofolk too. So our influences are to be found in the old Norwegian Black Metal movement, Bathory, Bolt Thrower and stuff like Tenhi.
But I prefer to compare our music with special situations and moods. Imagine you are standing alone on a mountain top, an icy wind is blowing in your face while snow is falling from a dark and stormy sky .
Another situation could be that you are on that top at dusk, the silence touches you almost and the vast lowlands below your feets are covered by fog while you are receivng the last rays of the sun.
A solitary walk in the forests at night and then there is this small clearing and you gaze into the stars and you feel the presence of something that goes beyond the ordinary human cognition. A sense of the transcendental powers that are forgotten by the ordinary man.
These are moments where you can sense the forces of nature and freedom extremely both physically and psychically.
While working on our songs we are totally into these deep spiritual experiences and our music tries to paint a picture to let the listeners soul travel.
Some tunes were directly written durings such moments, because we take often a classical guitar to such special places.
The music is mainly created by Drahcir and me (Wolfhetan), but E.H. contributes some riffs too. He is now writing the lyrics for the second album
Our aim is to write music with soul, something that is getting more and more lost within the extreme metal scene of today.
We create our songs because it means something special to us, it evokes feelings within us that we are missing in the “real” world of today.
We hope to evoke these experiences in our listeners too. We are convinced that stuff that has nothing to do with the music do not support the achieving of this goal. That`s the reason why we avoid seemingly “normal” things like bandwebsites, interviews, photos and permanent live activities.
We want to emphasize that Wolfhetan is a band, that is only concerned with spiritual matters. Our music and lyrics have nothing to do with the world of today and therefore do we not support any political ideas.
