biografía : Stagnant Project

Stagnant Project is a Latvian extreme metal band from Riga, Latvia, formed in 2010. The name is an ironical personification of current metal stage setup for "one-day" metal bands, who wishes not to be stagnant and move forward, but next day disband and abandon a project of having not enough will. The band passed through numerous sound and line-up changes, though front-man and outrageous shows became fundamental for them.
Despite the fact, that band themselves categorize their music style as extreme metal and first tapes had typical groove sound, Audiøpizduly EP has industrial metal influenced tone. Later on Stagnant Project mixed all previous experience into full-length album The Age of Giant Monsters continuing with combining groove and industrial together.
The band finished their first demo album Rorschach Test in 2012. Same year they have won in a solid local contest Fresh Blood ’11 and was a nominee in Latvian Metal Awards for Best Young Metal Band in Latvia ’11.
First breaking point in notable line-up change happened two years after, in 2014 when EP album Zombie Show has been released. It was first conceptual album and formation of current band’s style. And in a half a year, having new members onboard, Satanican Dream single has been revealed.
Having a trend to release a title biyearly – next AudiØpizduly EP in 2016 firmly consolidated a comic/geek concept, and first official music video was revealed. Later this year Nagibathor single fulfilled band’s library with the same influence. Also, front man became AMT electronics official endorser.
In 2018 debut conceptual LP album The Age of Giant Monsters has been released. It is the first conceptual album with narrator in Latvia. The album was supported by second official music video of main song.
