Snaegr was started as a project between two friends, sharing a love for Death Metal music, back in March 2008. A bunch of songs were quickly written, re-written and sacked over and over before three were chosen Snaegrs first demo, Ruin, which was released in August that same year. Then everything went silent.

They returned in April 2009 with a new three song demo centering around the over eleven minutes long epic title track, He Who Heralds the Conquerors. Plans to release both demos, as well as a few unreleased songs, on a compilation through a small label were made, but ultimately fell through. Once again, Snaegr went silent.

In February 2011 they entered Streamvalley Studios for two days to record their third demo under the guidance of local Death Metal-legend Pos Mauritzon. The result was five songs, three originals and two covers, with both heavier and better sound than ever before. The demo entitled The Hordes of Chaos is set to be released sometime during the summer of 2011.
