Settima Draconis was formed by Erik Vansaren in summer 2004 in Rome, but the first try was made in Milan in spring 2001.

With Settima Draconis, his intention was to mix different kinds of metal, keeping gothic metal roots and leaving the composition free, the sound resulting in a mixture of gothic metal and elements from extreme metal genres.

The existence of Settima Draconis can be split into two different periods, the first one with a complete line up but with some inconstant and immature artists. The second period, representing a clear cut from those artists who merely played for fun or to waste time. In this second period, all the old songs were forgotten.

Settima Draconis moved forward, led by Vansaren and formed by Marco, the guitarist and Francesca, the female singer. Marco was responsible for writing the guitar parts under the supervision of Erik, the male singer, who also wrote the drum scores, orchestration an male lyrics. Judith, the female voice, was in charge of her own lyrics.

Three guys have joined the band like shift workers, Francesco (guitar), that have partially rearrange some guitar parts under the supervision of Vansaren, Livio (bass) and Federico (drum). The guitar and male voice records have been done in Legend Studio (Rome), the drum has been recorded in Genova in the private study of Federico Beltrame while the female voice, mix and mastering have been done in Giampiero Ulacco's studio.

Currently Settima Draconis is looking for a label.
