Sandmist started in 2003, but back in that day I had only written some weird drums patterns using a very BAD drum machine, which can be heared, yet unaltered in my first album "Gold of the Ancients" I started to write the first Sandmist material in 2008 using very crappy equipment, and had released 3 short Demo Tracks ( Into the Crystal Pyramid, Return of Osiris and Mummification ). And after that I let the project be those 3 songs. one fine day, I decided to show my material to some good friends and they gave me loads of honest opinions, most of them where positive. So I decide to re-record those 3 tracks again, add 2 mroe tracks and release a Demo. Which I did shortly after. After distributing it around for a while I realized that my vocals where'nt up to standard as the music was, so i removed the vox tracks, and it then it went much better. After 3 months I decide to set my self on new equipment and instruments and to try evolve this weird , yet powerful and distinctive sound into something more entertaining and pleasurable. I started to write my 2nd album, named "Portent of Shifting Leaders" based on Fictional ( yet similar to reality ) laws, propaganda and power in the world. Very weird theme which is hard to write about, especially if you have no idea what is happening in the world like me :P In regards to vocals now I managed to create some decent patterns myself and also by involving Fem Vocalist Obscure's (Vanja Plavsic) thick growls.
