biografía : Quiet Outcry

Quiet Outcry was formed in Orivesi, Finland in 2004. After some rather amusing coincidences and lucky bounces, Lauri Viljanen (guitar), Jussi Saurio (drums) and Jukka Heinisuo (bass) found each other and started playing covers, some easy songs by rock and metal bands, without vocals of course.

After a few months Lauri learned that Tuomas Sivula, a classmate of Lauri's, played keyboards. And not only did he play them, but mastered the instrument completely. Tuomas was asked to join the band, which, at that time, was playing under the working title "Theater of Pain" (a very unique mix of Dream Theater and Pain of Salvation.) Tuomas joined almost right away and the band had found the long awaited keyboardist/pianist.

The band underwent no changes for a few months. The pinnacles of their career thus far were achievements such as a cover from Opeth's To Rid the Disease, where Jukka played bass and sang simultaneously.

When Jukka wanted to focus on singing, the band started to look for a bass player. The whole band knew Lauri Leinonen, who was known to be a skilled multi-instrumentalist, who was unfortunately already playing in another band. Nevertheless, he was asked to join the band. His answer was positive, and the band seemed to be complete and things started rolling nicely. The line-up was the following: Jukka Heinisuo (vocals), Tuomas Sivula (keyboards), Lauri Viljanen (guitar), Lauri Leinonen (bass) and Jussi Saurio (drums).

In December 2005 Quiet Outcry (nameless at the time) performed their first live performance. They played a cover of Opeth's To Rid the Disease and their first own song, an instrumental called "One of Those Days." In April 2006 the band came up with the name "Quiet Outcry" after a lengthy brainstorming session (preceded by several unsuccessful sessions in the past).

That is briefly the history and forming of Quiet Outcry.

The band's goal is to make unconventional, original and meaningful music, to have an effect on people and act to, little by little, change the world to be a better place for all.

They wish also to have great musical experiences, to meet great musicians and to collaborate with professional musicians and other people.
