biografía : Outcast (FRA)

Outcast, born under the name of “Overlander” in 1998, is a band from Paris (France) ; it was set upfrom the separation of two bands of miscellanous influences. The band was originaly composed of Will at rythm guitar/vocals, Clément at bass guitar, Cédric at solo guitar and Mathieu at the drums. The first compositions were oriented towards a classic metal style, then improved in a more aggressive style. One year after the band constitution, Overlander recorded their first selfproduction demo of 3 tracks, but a very few copies were distributed. Overlander started with several gigs since 1999 and even made a performance on the famous stage of the Gibus (Paris) in January 2000. On July of the same year, the band separated from his solist guitarist Cédric. Three months later, he was replaced by Romuald. Following these changes of line-up and style, now Thrash metal and very influenced by Death metal, the band takes the name of Outcast. In January 2001, the quartet records at the SAE studio the track “Remains” and features in a compilation managed by a website for students. In 2002, Outcast releases his real first CD (4 tracks). Resolutely more brutal than previously, “The Source Of All Creation” is a real break in the band evolution, which seems to have finally found the right way.At the beginning of 2003, the band recruited Guillaume and Gregory as guitar players to replace Romuald and Wilfried (who will be now only dedicated to vocals), so that makes place to more technical compositions.
