biografía : Malus Lupus

Malus Lupus was born in summer 1999 by an impulse from the unconsciousness. It begun as a one woman project and it has stayed that way except for possibility of session members. The project is continuously on a lurking experimental stage in the twilight of metal and dark ambient.

The first release, Promo2000 was finished in spring 2000. It was in traditional C-tape format and it was given to carefully chosen close friends. After a year of hard working and some setbacks the Diversus Animus -demo 2001 was finished, which was basically a fixed version of the Promo2000. Malus Lupus took part at SAKU ry's culture competition on April the 16th 2002 at Lohja, Finland and won the 3rd place in computer music genre with the two competition songs Den Ormande Ormen and Vanhuus which are on Diversus Animus.

After Diversus Animus it had been quiet with composing for long. The next release was indeed under work but a couple of years had passed since the latest release without any clear signs of survival mainly because of being busy in other work areas. So the new material was allowed to boil in peace and in the summer 2004 there finally came up signs of accomplishment. The newcomer came out in the form of a three song Harharetki-demo which can be found wholly from mikseri.net but of course it's also available burned on CDR if needed. There are some new elements in the new material like distorted guitars and male&female backing vocals to colour the ambient. The purpose was anyways to make it sound heavier compared to the earlier beeping sounds. The session members on
Harharetki were Korax (lead vocs), W (guitars) and Neiti Toini Talvensaari (male backing vocals).

In the Spring 2005 Malus Lupus published a song named "The Banishing" in mikseri.net, which lightens up the present type of musical orientation of the project. In the Summer 2005 followed the song "Kylmän Syvin Olemus" and in November 2005 "Samsara" describing the suffering of existence. The latest tune that got finished in April 2006 is called "The Dream Creeper". New songs will be published straight to the mikseri.net from now on as soon as they get finished. There are no near future plans for other kinds of releases.
