Lux Incerta was born from the ashes of Synoptia, in September 2000, when Agone (bass and vocals) and Anhydre (drums) decided to gather their will to create a new musical project.

Lux Incertia is a latin expression that means "Dusk Lights" coming from the early middle age, about the fight when the day lets the night coming.

Arkham (guitar), Charles (violin) and Nico (guitar, ex-Cyanhide) join the band very soon after. The band begins to create songs, digging their inspiration from the old litteracy and the middle age; Musically, their influences mauinly come from the Doom and Gothic music with bands such as My Dying Bride, Type O Negative, Paradise Lost, Katatonia or Anathema... The atmospheres prove a certain religiousness and melancholy. New songs are written but the band"s evoltuion is slowed by the integration of Agone in Penumbra (April 2001).

In February 2002, Lux Incerta is invited to play in Rouen with Ataraxie and Aes Dana. The audience is very enthousiastic and the press writes about Lux Incerta several times (Elegy for instance). In the end of 2002, Charles and Anhydre leave the band for personal and professional reasons.

Lux Incerta keeps creating and record in March 2003 a 3 titles demo with Jean-Francois Moreac (Misanthrope/ Argile). In september 2003, Alexis (who also plays drums in The Last Embrace) joins the band. Lux Incerta goes back on rehearsals and manages to put 6 songs in place in 3 months.

The band works on it new material to finish the writing of its upcoming album and is ready for coming back to the stage very soon...
