Komatsu is a super-massive rockband from Eindhoven Rock-City in the Netherlands. Their music is a mix of sludge, stonerrock and metal. Komatsu released their full-length debut album "Manu Armata" in februari of 2013. "Manu Armata" has been well received by the international press and has gotten raving reviews. KOMATSU’s music-style has been compared to bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Torche, Mastodon, Monster Magnet and Karma to Burn.

Early 2010 (former) members of localy acclaimed bands like Repomen, the Goods & SQY from Eindhoven Rock-City joined forces. Their years of musical experience and creativity created a brutal mix of sludge, rock and metal........KOMATSU is born!
Early 2011 KOMATSU records and releases a six-track promo EP, called KOMATSU. Meanwhile the band provides the support for Lonely Kamel (NO) and performes at the official Queens of the Stone Age afterparty in “Effenaar” Eindhoven.

In May 2012 KOMATSU is selected for the “ Nederlandse Popronde”. (This is a national music-initiative where 80 bands (out of 1000 aplications) get selected and are given the opportunity to showcase their band throughout 30 city’s in the Netherlands.) Before they start playing shows for the “Nederlandse Popronde” (summer of 2012), guitarist & lead-singer Eric Schenk-Brill decides to leave KOMATSU. Maurice Truijens (guitar) takes on lead-vocals and a new guitarist is recruited: Stephan Quint (MotorBongo, God’s Chosen Dealer). Together with KOMATSU-veterans, Martijn Mansvelders (bass) and Miriam Bekkers (drums) the band is complete again.

Oktober 2012 KOMATSU hits the studio with non other than Theo van Rock (who amongst others has worked with bands like Tool, Rollin’s Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Ween) to record, what is to become their full-length debut album.“Manu Armata” is released in februari 2013 on cd (Suburban Records) and vinyl (Lightown Fidelity). An album with beautiful artwork (artist: Igor van Veijfeiken - ‘Igorism’) and more importantly eleven super-heavy, stomping and melodic tracks. The international press gets enthusiastic. They rank KOMATSU among the top of Dutch heavy-rock scene and several reputable music-magazines reward “Manu Armata” with raving reviews (Aardschok metal-magazine: 82/100, Belgium Rocktribune: 88/100, Powermetal 85/100, Up Magazine 92/100 and Lust for Life-magazine and Eindhovens Dagblad-newspaper give 4 out of 5 stars).

The positive reviews of their full-length album "Manu ArmaTa" enables Komatsu to play a lot of shows and act as support for Truckfighters (SWE), Karma to Burn (USA), The Sword (USA) and Red Fang (USA). Oktober 2013 Komatsu records ä split EP, called "Nomen est Omen", together with British Blues-Rockers Dessert Storm. This 10" split EP contains two newly recorded songs: the grooving ’Cast Away’ and the Slo Burn coversong ’July’. ’Nomen est Omen’ is presented at Speedfest 2013 in Eindhoven Holland where John Garcia (Vista Chino, ex-Kyuss, Hermano, Unida and Slo Burn) joins the stage with Komatsu as they perform ’July’. After listening to Komatsu John Garcia says: "I’m a fan!". Komatsu is tempted to go abroad more and more. End of 2013 they played several shows in Belgium and will travell to the UK to promote ’Nomen est Omen’ by teaming up with Dessert Storm for some heavy rockin’

2014 is a good year for Komatsu. The band support Nashville Pussy, High on Fire, Clutch and joins John Garcia in november/december on his European Tour. They play 31 shows in 13 countries. In 2015 Komatsu support Corrosion of Conformity and is preparing for the recording of their new upcoming studio album.
