Homo Erectus is a Groove / Heavy Metal band from Athens, Greece formed in 2015 by Spiros Zafeiris. After many line up changes and a 2 track live rehearsal demo including songs "Hell Insane" and "Princess this is war" the band made their debut live in Schoolwave annual festival for the first time in 2017 as a 5 piece(rythm guitars/lead guitars/bass/drums/vocals). In 2018 the band became a 4 piece (guitar/bass/vocals/drums) and played again at Schoolwave 2018 annual fesival for the second and last time. Before the end of the year they released their debut EP "Burn the Sun" (Produced/Recorded by David Prudent/ Made in Hell studios, Mixed and Mastered by Giannis Christodoulatos/Sweetspot Productions) which included 5 songs with both "Hell Insane" and "Princess this is war" making it in to the album. In 2019 the band made their presentation of their debut EP at Hollywood stage in Agios Dimitrios with the support of fellow bands "Amalphi" and "Bad Lama" succesfully. The last 2 years the band remained static due to COVID-19 pandemic (only 3 gigs were made) and focuses on the recording of their new LP, estimated to be released on 2022.

To date, the band has played in many festivals around Athens (Schoolwave 2017,2018/ Nek festival / Schoolwave bands live / Schoolwave Christmas Party / Dead Poets Society festival / Acharnai festival etc) and supported bands locally.

Most of the lyrics are dark and storytelling, while the riffs are a combination of rock and metal with some groovey moments here and there.
