Heol Telwen was created on summer 1999, by Yskithyrwynn ( Vocals ), Kraban (Guitars ) & Anaon ( Guitars ).The band begin to play black/death metal influenced by the Nordic scene. In fall 2000, Ossian join the band as bass player. After some rehearsals, Heol Telwen begin to search his own drummer without results, till' the day Yskithyrwynn begin to play this instrument.Kraban replace it on vocals and the line-up become complete. In Early 2001, due to the celtic/folk inflences of the bandmembers, Heol Telwen decide to change their musical orientation to a Celtic Pagan metal, where the early nordic black metal melt with traditional Breton and Irish musics. To go until the end of the concept, Kraban become the whistle player. In fall 2001, Nehmain join Heol Telwen as whistle player to enrich the line-up with a full time folk instrument, but she left the band in summer 2002. Anaon left the band too at in October. He his replaced by Ossian. In early 2003, Hades, the bass player from Bran Barr, join Heol Telwen as Tin whistle player and at the same time, Mylgaon Vibuc'h become the new bass player. Their very good skill will make possible for the band to enter in studio on April to record "Mor Braz", the first demo. The band as make is first live presentation on December 2003 in Paris.
