Gravgard was formed by Hornfaen in the summer of 2004. It was meant to be a one man band, to make things easier with songwriting.
He had played earlier in a couple of other bands, but when he started Gravgard he left the others to focus on this new project. He wrote three songs and decided to record them.
And to make things easier in the studio he asked Kvist to play the drums on his first demo.

After the demo, Kvist, who also plays in Radioskugga,
decided to become a full member. Soon after Momqvist joined in on bass and Tompa on guitar.

They had played with eachother before in different bands and where in to the same music so the constelation was a fact. They rehearsed together in a period of six months, and decided to record a second demo in the fall of 05.

When the demo was launched, Gravgard got their first gig on short notice, and Hornfaen who sang and played the guitar at the same moment, felt that he wanted to focus on the vocals, so he asked Misanthropic, who was the guitarist in Martyrum, to join in for second guitarist for the gig.
The gig went well and Misanthropic asked to stay as a full member.

Now the constelation was fullfilled. Then a second gig was scheduled at Rockklubben together with Leprosy and Centinex.
