In The Beginning...

Firewall was formed in Oulu, Finland by Simola and Hautaniemi in summer 2001. At that point the band was called Barcode.

The founding members knew each other from their previous band called Bodies, which had split up earlier that year.

In Autumn 2001, Simola asked his friend, Lavander to join the crew. He fitted in like a glove.

The following year, bassists came and went, until we needed a professional guy to help us out play our next gig in Fall 2002.

Simola knew Teitto and he came, learned all 7 tracks in 3 days + played everything superbly at the gig ! Like A Pro, indeed !


...The Story Continues...

In fall 2002, new songs were written, but they did not seem to fit the other Barcode songs. The new songs were much more rock- than metal oriented.

So, the band decided to shed it's skin and came up with a new name: Firewall .

More new songs were made and a few gig's were played...

When the band was still called Barcode, one promotional recording was made, but never sent anywhere.

In Spring 2003, the band recorded a promotional recording Promo 2003 at their rehersal place.


...The Situation Today.

Now Firewall is concentrating in making new, better and more rocking songs... and playing gigs.

There has been some rumors that a new recording might be made in the future... But no actual dates have been set.
