biografía : Fentanyl

It all started by the end of 2003 when Padja and Pos booked a rehearsal room to muck about with some ideas. Both boys were heavily into speed, thrash and death metal, and wanted to put some kind of tribute together for the legendary Carcass. One thing led to another and the result turned out to be several crude recordings of the song "Spasm of Death", with Padja on drums/guitar and Pos on bass/vocals. Playing the tape back to Padja's long time friend Dmitri, it put a smile on the sturdy guys face, and made him decide to take over the drum kit once more.

The death metal idea quickly changed to a more Slayer/Kreator/Testament 80's style of speed and thrash metal. Pos' brother Eddie joined the ranks to take on the vocal part. Now with a new lead-singer and more material on the way, it was decided to start on the debut album before anything else. So that's when "Feeble Existence" started to take shape. The guys also found a name to call themselves, fashioned after one of the more epic songs on the disc.

The full-length debut with 11 songs was released in may 2006, and was met with raving reviews for the music and the courage to bring out an 80's sounding disc in todays over-produced music-industry. Naturally there were those that saw the production and vocal efforts with less enthousiasm, but this just made the boys put more energy into the whole process.

January 2007 saw the birth of a new split-EP. The idea of the project was to cover a song of each others band, but it was soon decided to put some new material on the disc as well. The more heavy metal style titlesong entitled "Run For Cover" and a new thrasher entitled "Death Has Prevailed".

A self-made band with some of the great names in the metal history as their main influences, the fierce quartet is ready to let the world know they've come a long way in the past years, and "Run For Cover" shows the bands determination and energy.

Fentanyl are currently working on new material for a 2nd full-length album tentatively expected summer 2007.
