Formed in 1996 from the ashes of several Metal bands in the Midwest, including Stygian, Legacy and Jester, Descension was more than just a band - it began as a concept, a true theatrical Metal experience... and as a musical monster that would devour anyone or anything in it's path! Over the years, the band has become a well respected group in the Midwest, nominated four years in a row in the Kansas City Music Awards as best Metal band as well as two years in a row as best live band in Kansas City. The shows have become legend... blood, fire, demons, theatrical lighting, special effects - even a snow storm - all during a typical Descension show - and the grand finale - the crucifixion of the Nun - amid screams of the crowd... DESCENSION is more than a typical band - it is a complete package - a musical journey in Horror - a true theatrical production... With four CDs to their credit, the band has a lot of material to choose from for each show, yet they never stay idle long - now they are recording what promises to be their biggest project yet - diverse, heavy and brutal - it is a true masterpiece in the making - Other bands can steal the name, steal some of the artwork, steal some of the ideas - but there is only one TRUE Descension - and the others just want to be... - DESCENSION - demons conjured straight from the Pits of Hell - with but one mission - total devastation of the weak human race - to use, abuse and devour all humanity - one by one....
