biografía : Death In Blood

In June 2002 Formula For Failure band mates Ken Carlson and Liam Thompson decided that they were sick of the way metal music was "wussing" out, with the likes of Limp Bizkit and Papa Roach describing their sound as metal, when in fact they were anything but. Ken and Liam wanted something that would emit all of their aggression, open people's eyes and to show the world a part of their sick and twisted dark side. They got together with David McQuillan (Stronger Than Death) and Death In Blood was born.

After only a few weeks of rehearsals Death In Blood pulled together a few songs and immediately locked themselves into the Scary Organ studio. After 10 hours, The "Death In Blood EP" was completed. The resulting 4 songs were so evil that a local priest had to be called in. Their debut CD was supported by a string of Northern gigs. But something was missing. They didn't have that fuller sound that they wanted. It would not be a problem for long. During one of their countless rehearsals a mystical entity entered the room and provided them with the sound they needed. Rich Maher (Formula For Failure) became the bass player of Death In Blood, which allowed Dave to move to his much-preferred guitar. The line-up, the set-up, was complete.

After numerous rehearsals and violent gigs (which got them banned from most of the pubs in Wearside) Death In Blood went back into the studio as a quartet. With the band's latest addition, a change of recording studio and producer, Death In Blood recorded the most aggressive, vulgar piece of brutality ever to be recorded in the Northeast. The ‘21st Century Chaos EP' was born...

“Death In Blood are undoubtedly the ugliest hardcore racket to come out of the slime of the river Wear. Prepared to stamp on the bones of any introspective indie wannabe in their path, they grimaced through their set at break neck speed – a 40 minute set crunched to 25. So before the gawking and wide-eyed felt the drumstick splinters in their faces, it was all over.”
