In February 2002 guitar player Anders “Damma” Dahm teamed up with drummer Henrik “Hank” Gustafson & founded what was to become a band called Distorted Nation. Soon they were joined by singer Rolf “Roffe” Berg. Other members came and went but Damma, Hank and Roffe stayed put, forming the core of Distorted Nation. The band matured and quickly developed into band with a distinct sound and a treasure of heavy songs. The band released three demos, Distorted Nation, Watch Your Back and Urban War, all receiving great reviews. In the end of 2003 Damma, Hank and Roffe felt an urge to play harder, heavier and more aggressive music and founded a side project. It soon turned out to be more than just a side project and after a few months it had progressed to be their main concern. Finally in March 2004 Distorted Nation met its destiny. Another nation arose where the old one had fallen, being meaner, harder, heavier and angrier….a brand new nation, the Core of Nation - CoN.
In spring 2005 Rickard Westerberg joined the band, originally shooting lead guitar but soon manning the bass gun. In May 2008 Ricardo took a firm grip on the role as Lead Guitarist. Core of Nation now is set to conquer the world. During the spring 2009 Rolf and Ricardo leaves CoN. Rickard is our "new" lead guitarist. And our first bass player Ola is back. In May 2009 Kjelle Holmboe become our new frontman. After a great UK-tour and a couple of gig in Sweden Kjelle is leaving CoN in Jan 2010. We had a couple of guys in our mind as our new frontman. So..in Feb 2010 Andreas Hedman join CoN. We are proud to have him on board as a CoN member.
In march 2013 Andreas Hedman leave CoN and we then need a new frontman
and a new bassplayer. At the end of march the icelandic viking Halli Ara join CoN as our new bassplayer. At this time we was still looking for a new frontman.
In may Timo Hovinen join us as our new frontman. During the spring of 2014 Halli was forced to leave the country, heading back to Iceland and before he jumped into his ship set courses headed north, he helped to pick out Mikael Carling as his replacement. In the beginning of 2016 announced that he intended to leave CoN. Again, the pursuit of new singer began. It turned out that Roffe who had lived for a few years in the UK had moved back to Sweden, Stockholm and had hunger to return to CoN take place as the “new” front man.
Core of Nation is a classical old school Doom Metal band from Stockholm which tour frequently in UK.
