biografía : Claim The Throne

Inspired by ale and ancient battles, Australia's Claim The Throne have become renowned for their exciting stage shows and unique brand of metal.

Claim The Throne’s debut album, “ONLY THE BRAVE RETURN” was released last year, coming with a coinciding novel written by the band members to tell the story of the soundtrack album. Combining folk metal with melodic death/black, this album built a loyal base of allies in Perth who now proudly support the battle metal genre.

In 2009, the CD/DVD ALETALES focuses on a more folk metal approach with greater production and songwriting to rival the leaders of the genre, and is sure to have the listener craving for a feast of turkey and brew to celebrate victory!

If you are brave enough, you must witness Claim The Throne for yourself. Blood, armour, swords, axes, cloaks, leather and frothy mugs of ale are just some of the items you will encounter on your journey..

PREPARE FOR BATTLE!!!

"Claim The Throne have a reputation for crazy on-stage antics and this evening would be no exception. A raffle draw resulted in one punter being invited on stage to a “feast” (consisting of what looked like a large chicken perched on a bale of hay) – he hammed it up, feeding other band members as they played and chugging down ale in grand theatrical style. A funnel and hose made an appearance later in the set, although the crowd ended up wearing most of the liquid poured through it" - FasterLouder.com.au

"Claim The Throne whip the crowd into a writhing mass of festive joy, ale & jigs. There was nary a tedious moment in between their soaring choruses screaming for the destruction of their enemies" - Wf.com.au

"Claim The Throne are super fun, no doubt about it. Folk-inspired black metal thrash that would have Thor busting out the air-guitar hammer" - Drum Media Issue 027

"Light-hearted, and surely fucking hilarious at times, this is a banding of musicians that not only know how to play - but to state the other senses for a complete marriage appealing to the inner comic without taking any flavour from their pledge for traditional genre technicality." - Xpress Issue 1149

"Although starting their set by suggesting they might be out of place in “such a brutal lineup”, when their riffs started, so did the windmilling – both on-stage and in the crowd – so their contrasting style obviously did not matter a whit. Sometimes sounding like the folksy soundtrack to an 8-bit Nintendo game and other times like a quite serious black metal band, they were a ton of fun and had the crowd alternating between dancing jigs, banging their heads, and singing along to ditties such as Set Sail On Ale." - FasterLouder.com.au

"Gored up to the extreme, covered in blood, and roaring the chants of their viking tales of blood, beer and women. Lets say there was plenty of milling, cheering and heaving not only on the stage but also within the crowd. Claim the Thone simply hold up Perths' (if not Australias) Gauntlet for Viking Metal." - SpaceShip News

"Starting off the festivities in true character, as one could only expect from the Claim The Throne crew, they put aside the distortion for a moment to front their first ever acoustic set for the early few. Seated around a table and taking swigs from rather large pots of brew, they were joined by ‘epic mouth-harpist’ Jake for a taste of old and new.
Never failing in the music department, each member attacked the material with renewed excitement, even taking the time to cut the Aletales cake and stuff their faces before getting practically half the venue on stage for, what else, but a glorious sing-along of Set Sail On Ale." - Jessica Willoughby, XPress

"Arriving on their longboat made out of cans, presumably to make good use of the 5c refund available in the Southern state, Perth Viking metallers Claim the Throne followed with such bravado, ‘jiggability’ and humour that almost instantly they were everyone’s favourite new band. Arriving with free biscuits and covered in blood, the quintet provided the battle cries and beer funnel, and requested naught but “more courage in the foldback!” The highlight of the set however was the highly enjoyable new track Set Sail on Ale, of which they suitably adapted to pay homage to the marvellous brew that is Coopers Pale Ale!" -
