biografía : Brutus (NL)

Around september 2000 "Bastærd" (Textures, ex-Lost Sacrament) and "Ploegbaas" (EX-Goddess of Desire, ex-The Mess Age) decided to start up a giga-Death-Metal-project wherein a continuous plow/blast, brutal rigid zombiguitars and murderous quasi-poetic Dutch lyrics are the main ingredients.

Soon "Molestrator" (Razorblade Perversion) and "Schoft" (Wiri Smokkor) joined the two to complete the madness. After a few rehearsals, they decided an extra growler wasn't necessary, and that 3 vocalists sounded just as hectic and chaotic as BRUTUS was meant to sound. With 3 guitarists on the mics the writing and arranging of the songs went only smoother and faster.

Women and relationships are not allowed to disturb the grim ambience of BRUTUS, so, Molestrator got his lazy butt firmly kicked when he arrived at the rehearsal with his new "play-maid". "Ploert" (Pandaemonium), our Saviour, The Eternal Jerker, replaced the Molestrator. With this line-up several venues had already been pletwalsed when 'round Xmas 2001 Brutus recorded a 6-song PROMO in order to indoctrinate label-owners and other deathmetal freaks...WORLD DOMINATION !

With a lot of nagging and a little physical violence we managed to get an opening slot on one of the "Gutting Europe"shows supporting Deeds and Disgorge and surprisingly enough the Unique Leader camp was impressed enough to release our debrut album "Slachtbeest" which was recorded in December of 2002. After a vast period of delays this brutal statement was finally issued in December 2003 immediately followed by an extensive European tour with Macabre and Cephalic Carnage.

Soon after this endeavour the Bastaerd announced his retirement from deathmetal. Meanwhile 'Slachtbeest' was getting killer reviews in the media worldwide. Bastaerd completed the set of gigs we had before being replaced by Jazzwiz "Vlerk". Preparations for a second release and live-promotion including a festival-show in Portugal is what Brutus have been spending their time with after this line-up change. 'Murwgebeukt' will surely usher in the darker period in 2005..... Total Loss of Joy
