BLOWN is a metal/hardcore band hailing from Nyon, Switzerland. Composed of the power and precision of metal, carried by the spirit and rage of hardcore, these 5 guys are a war machine ready to destroy everything that comes upon its way.
BLOWN started in 1998 in the East Nyon underground scene. Founding members, Maxime (bass) and Marc (drums) were heavely influenced by 80ies and 90ies metal. To complete the line up, they recruited Fred (guitar) in 1999 that gave precious ideas in the song writing, Schahin (vocals) in 2000 that brought the dark lyrics and visual aspect of the band. After several shows, Aaron (guitar) joined in 2001 with his metallic riffs. The band is complete.
After recording demos in atomic shelter cellars and run down factory rooms, they played shows through out Switzerland and France. During summer 2001, BLOWN entered the Belle Fontaîne Studio in Lausanne to record Spreading seeds (Condor Records/Disques Office) , the bands first record. Following the release, the band played many shows to promote the album with national and international bands such as Nostromo, 25 Ta Life, Born From Pain, GFK, Fear My Thoughts, Dark Day Dungeon, Misconduct, Zero Mentality, Cataract to name a few. BLOWN was also aired at radio shows in Switzerland, France and the US.
In 2003, the video for My Only Weapon was shot by Steven Blatter. It got played several times on national television (TSR) music shows along with band interviews. The band got contacted by Blank TV (USA) to participate on a international DVD compilation called Blank The World. All benefits of the sales were given to Amnesty International.
A demo with new songs was recorded the same year by Patrick Marcel André Freymond, the band's sound engineer and 6th member. The song entiteled (Un)broken features on an internnational hardcore sampler A Sign Of Frienship Vol.2 (KTSA Records/Burnside Records) 2x CD. This time the benefits were sent to Sea Sheppard, a organisation that cares for wild life in the Pacific Ocean.
Today, the band is writing new material and forsees entering studio to record the upcoming record in 2006.
