biografía : Bloodride (FIN)

Remember the time when you listened the bands like: Testament, Dark Angel, Exodus, Slayer, Sacrifice, Kreator, Destruction, Death Angel, Metallica, Voivod, Megadeth, Anthrax, Death, Sodom, Sepultura? The Golden Age of thrash Metal. When all those bands were fresh, new, exciting and when you heard them very first time? When whole scene gathered together spreading flyers, making ‘zines, discussed about the old bands - about the new bands, trading tapes? When you had dozens of pen pals around the world? When the real underground scene existed? When nothing else mattered but just the pounding feeling when you listened those bands, the aggressiveness, the raw energy right there in the music? When thrash metal was truly the hardest music in the whole fucking world?

I may be old - but yes I remember that time. Young people might say - "that was then" and leave it be. No. I think it's truly the time get back that old feeling again. It's time to raise again the flag of hate! That's why the Bloodride was founded. In the end, old farts like us couldn't do anything else than just pure thrash metal. Not to evolve, not to find new exciting music styles, not to play in a pop band that your granny could by your cds' as well... The fire still burns, it burns too hard to be forgotten.

I really don't think the whole old-school scene could come alive like it was. That's not possible anymore. But we still could kick your ass and let you feel what we used feel years ago. You may be able to understand us then...
A short Bloodride history lesson

The band was formed by two gentlemen Niko Karppinen (ex-Maple Cross/ex-Legenda/ex-Plan E) and Petteri Lammassaari (ex-Agnus Dei/ex-Faff-Bey) in one somewhat alcohol-filled evening of 2000 when the guys accidentally met each other at a gig of Tarot in Helsinki and started to warm up an idea of forming their own band. With Niko on guitar and Petteri on drums, and inspired by such Thrash Metal acts as Testament, Slayer, Anthrax and Exodus, this combo´s musical direction was soon ready to take its very first steps on the soil of old-school thrash Metal; only the remaining musicians for bass, another guitar and vocals needed to be found. Soon, however, the remaining 3 guys were recruited to the line-up of Bloodride; Teemu Vahakangas (ex-Astaroth/ex-Yell/former-Unshine) came to another guitar, Esa Pennala (ex-Rutja/ex-Unshine) took a 4-stringer and Jyrki Leskinen (ex-Sindeep) found himself behind the microphone. After some hard training, the band was ready to thrash out their 1st ever demo. First demo was released in April 2003 and got somewhat good response. In the spring of 2004 Bloodride entered in the studio again with 6 new tracks to record their forthcoming MCD "Bloodridden Disease" - yet this is all for now...

Stay Metal!!!
