Bill Skins Fifth was founded in Salo in early 2008 by Timo Heikkilä, Henrik Hömppi and Aamos Ylönen. Band first composed their songs with parts that contained clean vocals by Janne Säde. However, Janne decided to concentrate on studying, which forced him to leave the band after a few months. At that point the band realized that their material worked much better with growling vocals and decided not to look for a replacement for Janne.

In July 2008 BSF headed to studio to record two songs for their first demo, released only in the internet.

In 2009 band kept having problems finding a bass player as Marko Krzywacki, who joined the band to do a couple of shows, had to leave the group for his duties in his main band, Divided. After a long search BSF met up with Sami Kuusisto and the situation with the lineup started to look much brighter.

Soon after this the band entered a studio again to record the songs for their next release, Act One.
