Battlesword was founded in spring 1999 by Andreas(drums), Björn (guitar) and Micha (guitar). They had been playing together in a local hardcore band named Bloodstring for several years. Bloodstring had played roundabout 60 gigs with more or less well.known bands as for example Kickback, Fury of Five, Integrity or Congress. They also had released two demo tapes and a split 7“ with Furnace. At the beginning of 2001 Battlesword was joined by Patrick (vocals). Dominik and Daniel helped them out with playing bass because they didn´t manage to find a bassplayer. All the three of them had before played in a hardcore combo named Bleeding and Dominik used to be play guitar in Drift. Finally they seem to have found a steady bassplayer; a guy named Bauer who has been rehearsing with Battlesword since April 2003. They would describe their sound simply as melodic death metal. The musical taste of the different band members ranges from Grave Digger to Edguy and from Death to In Flames.
