ASSAULT started out in Strömstad, Sweden, in 2007, then as a two man project with Johan and Andhrimnir. Both Martin and Arthur joined the band early in 2009 and at this time they called themselves “Arsch Havarie”.

After rehearsing their material for almost a year they decided to make a recording, and in april 2010 the band went to Karlstad and Big Balls Productions studio. They recorded their first album, Closer To Eternal Life. In the car on their way home from the studio they decided to change the band name to give themselves a more serious approach. ASSAULT was born.

In July 2010 Andhrimnir shared the news that he was moving back to his home country Germany, and ASSAULT
now had to search for a new drummer.

In September 2010 Marcus was asked to fill Andhrimnirs place as a drummer, and after a short audition he accepted the offer. And with almost three years gone by without a bass player in the band, ASSAULT finally became a full squad when Hannes joined in October 2010.

ASSAULT was now ready to conquer the metal scene.
