Artesia started as a french female duet, playing atmospheric music. The band was formed in 2001 by Agathe (keyboards, choirs), and a first recording, "l'Eveil de l'Ame" was made in june 2003 (8 titles/38 minutes), but the sound was very bad, and was not distributed. Gaëlle joined the band in September 2003 and it's the beginning of the adventure.
The second demo "l'Aube Morne" (5 titles/20 minutes) was recorded in September 2004 and is now sold out!
On December 2005, Artesia signed a deal with Prikosnovenie, a french label near Nantes, specialized in faërie and world music. The first album"Hilvern" is released on february 2006.
In June 2007, the second album " Chants d'Automne" is out. Still talking about mysteries and legends in Little Brittany. Loïc gets more involved in the band.
In early 2008, Gaelle left the band for personnal reasons. Agathe worked on the third album, helped by Loïc (Belenos) and Coralie, a new violinist. "Llydaw" (8 titles - 40 min) is out in februar 2009, on Prikosnovenie again. The italian illustrator ScarletGothica designed all the booklet with talent and inspiration. For the first time, t-shirts and girlies are available, and the label decides to create a collector box limited to 10 copies in the world. After the release of Llydaw, Gaëlle wanted to come back and Coralie decided to leave the band. The band is currently working on the fourth album!
