Anthem is a Polish death metal band from Poznań. Formed in 2005, the band has released two mini-albums “Goecja 9” (2007) and “Necronomicon” (2009) and shared stages with Hypnos, Trauma, Empty Playground, Hate, Furia and Incantation, among others, visiting Germany, Czech Republic, and UK to boot. Both recordings were well-received by fans and critics alike rendering the band a deal with Mad Lion Records for a debut album “Phosphorous”.

The CD, recorded in Nosferatu Studio and helmed by Michał Wasyl, was mixed and mastered by Aro (guitarist in Masachist and Shadows Land) at Sound Studio.

Having in their very serried ranks Vivi (vocal), Piwo (drums), Wojtas (guitar) and Hajlig (bass), what Anthem has delivered on “Phosphorous” is an unabashed amalgam of razor-sharp riffs, dexterous drumming with bludgeon-like blast-beast and double-bass gunfire, trench digging bass lines and last but not least sordid growls from the very pits of nether regions, putting its own twist on death metal savagery with both musical proficiency and bare-knuckle underground ritualism.

“Phosphorous” will be set ablaze on January 2014 via Mad Lion Records.
