The history of Angelus begins in San Vicente -a town of El Salvador- with Isaac Henríquez, who started to listen to Rock bands such as Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica, etc, when he was about 12 years old.

Angelus derives from a short project named "Sombra" ("Shadow"). Isaac meet the members of the band in San Vicente. First of them, Vladimir Umaña, who was one of the few rock drummers in that town. They contact the bassist and vocalist, Joel Ruiz, and they start their formal career on 1998.

Since its conformation, the group started a singular tour named "Gira Cantonal". They were playing across the country in many cantons (rural zones) where people didn't like Rock, they were constantly asked to play cumbia, and they were underestimated at the beginning, but with time they achieved experience, little by little their followers grew, and Metal began to take roots in San Vicente. On 1997 there was formed a rocker's club in San Salvador (capital city), where they always wanted to play. This club was dedicated to organize Rock and Metal concerts with local bands. So they went and made a presentation in San Salvador, and Angelus was written for history as the first Metal band from San Vicente.

First time Angelus stepped San Salvador scenes it was on a place called FENASTRAS. "The first time we played, we thought it was going to be disappointing, we thought people was not going to like us... but it was all the opposite. The support of people is unbelievable", Isaac says.

They count now with two productions: First one is a demo tape released on 2001, named as the band, Angelus. The second one, their first full lenght CD album called "Dos" (Two, in english), that includes 9 all new songs, and was released on 2009.

Angelus has been a big phenomena inside salvadorean Metal movement and inside Rocker's Club. Through effort and teamwork, Angelus started to be renowned and demanded in all big Metal events inside their country. The hard work has brought results and Angelus is now consolidated as one of the most important and beloved bands on salvadorean Metal scene.
