Anaemia (Rus) is a pretty well-know in international underground post-grunge/post-hardcore band from Moscow, Russia. The band started from raw old-school Seattle-grunge in the vein of TAD, early Soundgarden, Jesus Lizard and early Nirvana. After forming at the end of July 2005, the band recorded their first 2-song demo in September 2005. Their debut single named "Kernel" was recorded and released in December 2005. It gained some kind of popularity on underground indie & alternative music scene worldwide. In April 2006 Anaemia released their first 4-song EP called "Dickhead Rehearsals". It spreaded for free throughout Internet and band's gigs. After that the band released a compilation which consisted of "Dickhead Rehearsals" and 8 previously unreleased demo-tracks including the cover on "Fix Me" originally written and performed by Black Flag. In Summer 2006 Anaemia made their first abroad appearance during very successful mini-tour through Latvia. After returning back to Moscow from Summer-gigs Anaemia started to rehearse new material for their debut album which was recorded in April-May-June 2007 and marked some major changes in band's sound. As long as band was gaining some live experience they also gained some technical and progressive musical aspects and visions in their art. New Anaemia's sound could be described as quintessence of late Alice In Chains's & Soundgarden's sound-experiments, pure artcore/post-hardcore heaviness in the vein of Helmet, Pelican, Cult Of Luna and Poison The Well and various experimental and progressive elements of late Deftones, A Perfect Circle and especially Tool with some touch of Eastern ethnical music in melodies. The band's debut album called "Osiris" will be out on their own Apocalypse Now Music at the end of August 2007. The band is planning to produce a worldwide tour promoting their debut album and currently searching for a good EUR/USA/OZ label.
