Maaren Aikio, originally from the village of Ivalon-Mati, was the daughter of singer Niiles-Jouni Aikio, and she was also known as the second member of the Shamani Duo; a very influential Folk music group in the 1990s in Finland where their single album entitled “Hunka Lunka” was the official souvenir of the 1997 Helsinki summit offered to Bill Clinton and Boris Yeltsin. Concerning her private life, she was among other things the first wife of Jonne Järvelä of the Korpiklaani group and she had a son with him, but the couple separated at the end of the 1990s. Subsequently, she withdrew from the world of music and lived with her family in Kautokeino, Norway where she died at home of a heart attack on June 2, 2018.
