My father, Bob Davis, was a jazz pianist phenom. He taught and played with the best. When he was a booking agent/promoter, he only booked the best of the talents. Those who were actual musicians or extreme talents. ...like Jackson 5, Tina Turner, Allman Brothers...He also booked Strongbow. I got to meet them here in Miami. I fell in love with this album to the point that it warped. This is truly a band that should have made it to the present day. They had the talent and the music was brilliantly written. ...but I know as a band, they are only human ...and life happens and bands split up for a variety of reasons...but as fans we would love them to stay together forever, so we can continue to hear their music the way it sounded from the day we first heard it.
About the time , Moog synthesizers and special effects were beginning with bands like Alan Parsons, Rush, Billy Thorpe...
This Strongbow album is the quintessential Hard rock 70's special effects synthesizer example.
The songs were well written, the lyrics were typical of the poetic beauty of the time, and the band synchronization and blending was spot on.
I remember a kid and teen I would stare at this album for hours because the music was very addicting ...
I would give anything to hear any of the surviving members to play again in concert.
I grew up hearing the best of the best and fine tuned my ear to know what real music was and to discern between technical greats and average guitar strummers.
..and these guys from Strongbow were among the talented real musicians.
If you can find this album, I encourage, no I insist you buy it and listen and learn. A lesson in music history and perfection.
