I recall by the time, that the band had a gap between the conception of these tracks and the release of the album. They were the first to say that this album was a bit outdated, and that they would create different songs if it was today. Anyway, the band thought they were not going to throw away all this work, so they released "Evolution, Devolution, Revolution".

You can notice immediately that the riffs are more and more dense, that the sound is getting closer and closer to bands like Fear Factory, "Dawn" an example, but the powerful "Hallelujah" shows a Ramp like we've never seen before with dense riffs, with strong drums and breeding anger. These two songs are a display of what you can define as "the Ramp sound". "No one" is also a good song, not brilliant but with short length you cannot get tired of it. Then you get to "Future", a song that confirms what you though you've heard on the previous tracks: they're really using some discrete keyboards! This is kind of a more boring song, but plays just before "How" which is one of the more powerful songs by the band - I love the chorus with that "HA-OW" (how) being pronounced with all that power! The best song in the album. "Old times" is a softer moment, a great song which sounds more like an alternative rock song than a metal one. Other song that jumped into my ears was "For a while", the ballad of the album (yes, they keep doing one per album). This is a good song, and the band shows that they've got what it takes to build this kind of song. Nevertheless, this is not their best ballad because it's repetitive and not as inspired as their previous ones. "Apathy" is a confusing song, with some catchy moments, but boring most of the way... The last song of the album is "Come", a powerful moment closing another good album from the band.

"Evolution, Devolution, Revolution" is a good album, not particulary brilliant but still strong a powerful as the band can be. If you liked their previous work you won't be disappointed by this one, which shows that the band is still on an evolutive process.
