Extreme and Violent !

Albums like this one here are the main reason I like the underground Death Metal scene so much! I accidentally stumbled on a track of those crazy Greeks on the net and it automatically triggered my curiosity for more, as this track gave out an absolutely relentless outcome. The track is, Straight shot to the Head, and it is a track from this album here, which happens to be their new full length. A quick scan on their bio, uncovers two demos of 2005, another full length of 2007 and a 4way split of 2011. Not bad for a band that went through 4 years on ice and several lineup changes.

So here we are in 2013, with Disciples of the Garrotte playing loud and it truly is relentless! First song: Abortion through shovel. A graphic horror intro and all hell breaks loose! Sheer and rabid brutal death grind is what these Greeks play and it looks like they outdid themselves on this one! Every inch of music written here, is aiming for the red zone of brutality. The riffs are the first thing someone notices as the hearing proceeds. All songs are mainly structured around one or two major riffs and are mostly small in length. An average of 2:50 minutes is each song’s duration, and probably is the proper length for this type of extremity! No one gets tired in 3 minutes, and you can get as brutal you like, without having the fear of getting boring.

The songs proceed in a tremendous rate, and besides the riffing section, it gets pretty obvious that the same extremity they chose to follow on guitars is followed on the bass and on the drums! The bass lines are fat and tight, accenting the guitars properly, boosting the whole outcome, creating a thick wall for the drums to follow. Now, if the riffing section is the first thing to notice, the second would definitely be the drumming! The drummer is a true beast on a leash, blasting almost every minute but also not forgetting to groove it up on occasion. A whole wide range of blastbeats is what this dude keeps in his arsenal, and they are all laid properly in each track along with clever rolls and fills, building the base for Incineration’s brutality to take effect!

The vocals of course couldn’t lay low in this chaos! 3 vocal lines detected here. The typical growling one, some high shrieks and various piggy squeals, with the growling one holding the main part and the shrieky lines used mostly to double some refrains and verses. The pig squeals are also in a smaller range but properly used, to give a nice vocal variation to the whole outcome!
The entire album reeks horror, from the music, to the samples they use as intro on almost every song( fans of Mortician… gather up), to the song titles and lyrical content which couldn’t get more graphic and finally to the album cover and layout which is a totally repulsive! And as if all the above weren’t enough, there comes a cover on Devourment’s Babykiller in the end of the cd to make it even tastier!

What else to ask for? Raw and relentless brutal death metal, excellently performed by those rabid Greeks. Definitely one of my best for 2013.
