British thrash veterans Virus have parted ways with drummer Dave Sherwood after two years.

Dave comments: "Its been a bumpy but enjoyable ride with Virus but you can only
be off-road for so long. I'd been thinking about leaving for a while but
December seemed the ideal month to actually do something about it.
Although the band have an album's worth of material ready to be
recorded, I thought it'd be better if I left before being caught up and
being unhappy in 2011s tour and gig schedule - you've got to break the
circle sometime, and this was my time. There is no animosity between us
and I will continue to support Virus in whatever I am involved in
