The WINTERPATH project born in January 2003 by the hands of Lorenzo (vocals), Alessandro (guitars) and Alessio (drums), with the intention to propose a Death Metal strictly influenced by Folk and acoustic parts. After some months of rehearsals and composing, the line-up is completed firstly by Simone (guitars) and then by Andrea (bass). The band finishes the creation of the songs for their first work, and in September 2003 the band enters Sonik Studio in Bottagna (La Spezia, Italy), for the recording of the first demo CD entitled: "The Wolf Philosophy". This 6 tracks CD is a mix of styles, having a base of Swedish Death Metal, some darker parts and thrashy riffs, all mixed with an acoustic mood, thanks to the guitar work of Alessandro and Simone. Lyrically, the concept of "The Wolf Philosophy" is based on the ancient Paganism of the region by which the band comes, completed by some descriptions of wintry visions by singer Lorenzo. The CD has good responses almost everywhere, and in the first months of 2004 the band has a deal with newborn label "Sol Atratus Prod." that intends to produce the next WINTERPATH work. In the same period, the band, due to some inner problems, separates from guitarist Simone and changes substitutes for some months, but in Summer 2004 finds the new member, Marco, guitarist and also author of some keyboard parts on the new work. In August 2004 WINTERPATH enters the studio (always Sonik, of course), for the recording of their new MiniCD "Inside Cold Patterns", three long tracks plus intro and outro, bringing the band's style to a new level, the songs are the perfect mixing of Progressive, Death and Folk Metal, a lot of experimentation and changes on them. The CD is out the 21th September by Sol Atratus prod, now the band will play some live shows to promote the new work in the best way possible...the Winterpath deeply proceeds..
