We Are Defiance was formed in 2009 short after ex-Paddock Park singer Brian Calzini was kicked out of the group while touring through the USA. Short after that Paddock Parks second vocalist Jason Neil left band and followed Calzini back to Ocala, Florida. Paddock Park split up because the band didn't found a new singer.
Their first single To The Moon was released on September 5, 2009 on ITunes. Short after the release WAD got signed to Tragic Hero Records. The band started writing on new material for their debut album. Trust In Few was produced by Tom Denney (ex-A Day to Remember). Calzini announced that Telle Smith (The Word Alive) and Danny Worsnop (Asking Alexandria) would feature one song the album but that didn't happen. Calzini and producer Tom Denney are friends since High School. Together they covered B.o.B.´s world wide hit Airplanes together with Sleeping with Sirens-vocalist Kellin Quinn on their covered version of Airplanes Part 2[4]. Fans were allowed to download this song at the bands campaign they started via Twitter called Tweet For A Track. On November 29, 2010 We Are Defiance started their first tour through the USA. The band played concerts in California, Florida, Arizona, Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, Nevada and Florida.
We Are Defiance toured together with I Am Ghost and label mates This Romantic Tragedy.
At the beginning of 2011 the band toured again through the States together with Monster, Legends and Dr. Acula. On that tour the band had a car accident. Singer Calzini was brought into hospital. The reason for that crash was freezing rain. Because of that crash the album release was on March 29, 2011. The band slated the normally release date on March, 15th. The album peaked on 28th place at Billboards Heatseekers charts for one week. We Are Defiance is currently touring with Oh, Sleeper and Like Moths To Flame.
