Biography : Thunderhorse (USA)

ThunderHorse was formed by San Jose natives Pete Rice and Justin Estep.Pete and Justin met back in high school in 1992. They jammed here and there before playing together in Pete's ska/punk band: The Janitors Against Apartheid. After The Janitors disbanded in late '97 the both of them fell out of the music circuit for several years. They finally returned to their instruments in the summer of 2000. Both jammed and played with many bands trying to create names for themselves in the local music scene. Bands such as: American Avenue, A Life in Vain and If Time Fails. As fate had it, they both ended up practicing at the same facility and started collaborating in February of 2007. Being fascinated with anything medieval they decided to make that the band's theme, then settling on the epic name ThunderHorse. After scouring the internet for a bass player they found Manell "Papa Ian" Menor in July of 2007 on craigslist. Ian's thunderous bass playing coupled with Justin's loud, machine like drumming bring the thunder to the horse. Still needing that duel guitar element crucial to the T-Horse sound, they found Gary "Electric" Velasco practicing in the same facility in winter of 2008. The combination of Pete’s crunchy rhythm and Gary’s triumphant leads takes ThunderHorse over the top! After nearly two years of trying out vocalists frustration finally kicked in and Ian and Pete picked up vocal duties in late 2009. Taking from all their musical influences ThunderHorse has managed to invent a style of their own, creating a style of metal that will stand out in any crowd.
