Biography : The Stone

In the unholy June of the year 1996, two hatred warriors, Nefas and Blizzard, have turned flesh into stone and the flames of Perun have enlightened Serbia...The Stone to Flesh was formed...Soon after, Kozeljnik have joined the legion.
In February of 1997, the band has entered the studio for the very first time. Nefas was on vocals, Blizzard on guitar and might Kozeljnik also took a part on guitars and was the author of all lyrics and music on the first demo entitled "Serbian Woods". Drums and bass guitar were played by, in that time, friends of the band, Ilija on drums and God Of Perversion on bass guitar. Demo was recorded in Cesnjak studio in Kragujevac, consisting of four songs: "Serbian Woods", "Morana", "Pagan Land" and "Vihor Paganske Osvete". What we were hearing was a raw and aggressive black metal of pure kind with a little touch of Pagan atmosphere. The band has latter described this demo as their hymn to Serbian Pagan glory.
After that, God Of Perversion became a full-time member and Adimiron have joined and became a full-time drummer of the band.
The things have started to roll for Stone To Flesh and a year later of the first demo recording, in February of 1998. the band have entered the Cesnjak studio again and recorded a second demo masterpiece "Killed By The Sun". Track list of second demo: "My Demonic Face", "I am Immortal" and "Killed by the Sun". The music on the second demo brought a little bit different atmosphere, enriched with the demonic touch. After the second demo, Blizzard has left the bend because of personal reasons. In the meantime, Demonion Productions, a small underground label from Greece, has shown an interest in Stone To Flesh and released "Unveiled Evil" mc that consisted both recorded demo materials. Mc was out with nice b/w glossy cover but unfortunately all of the copies are sold-out and can hardly be found today.
It was a 1999 when Serbia felt under the Nato Aggression and even the missiles were flying around, the band was on and ready for a new conquering. A part of the atmosphere from bombing of Belgrade was recorded and used as an intro to the "Unveiled Evil" - a first track on the "Some Wounds Bleed Forever" album. Yeah, they have struck again, this time with a full-length with an eight track on it. The Cd was released by CCP Records from Austria and reached a great success very soon after releasing.
Various reviews were written in worldwide metal magazines. Some people liked the album and some didn"t but, Serbia felt the black metal flame, burning inside for the first time, that"s for sure. Among the eight tracks on the album, two of them are re-rerecorded from the demos - songs "Serbian Wood" and "My Demonic Face". New songs were outstanding. Again we faced a masterpiece in form of aggressive and speed black metal with unpolished production.
In their history, band has played a couple of gigs that will never be forgotten. Their stage performance is one that fits to extreme black metal band in a best possible way. They have shown their greatness on January 25th, 2003. in Belgrade, by playing one of their best gigs, sharing the stage with ROOT (Cz), and these days they will play a mini-tour in Czech Republic including an Open Hell Festival.
After the "Some Wounds Bleed Forever" album was released, Adimiron have left the band and was soon replaced by Ilija who played drums on the first demo material.
The things continued to go on, band have continued to play and to create but, the contract of CCP Records and the label it self became weak for the quality of the band"s music - the changes happened. The band has changed a name from Stone To Flesh into THE STONE, and the label was changed. Under the The Stone moniker, they are signed by a Wolfcult Records (division of Millenium Music) from Germany.
...and then it happened. A masterpiece of masterpieces, the one of the rare, in a pure essence of black metal; we hailed "Slovenska krv"... It is no longer unbelievable because it is here, among us, the second album of The Stone. It is a time when we remember that Christianity took our land but it is also a time when our pride is stronger that ever...
The second album takes us back to Pagan times again. This time, every damn second sounds perfect, the lyrics are completely written in Serbian language and truly are a breath taking poetry in honor of Slavonic blood.
Album is this time recorded and mixed in a best studio that can be found in Serbia, in the Kazablanka studio, and the result is on you to judge.
God Of Perversion did not took a bass guitar this time due to the fact that he was serving the army and he wasn"t able to come to record this album.
The year 2003 has started great for the band. THE STONE officially have a new drummer named Aksinomantijan who have shown his musical skills on a few gigs this year and he has also participated on a new album "Tragom Hromoga Vuka". He is a great replacement for the old drummers and he fit very well to the line-up. Ilija, the old drummer, was serving an army so the replacement was expectable.
The most important news for this moment is that THE STONE has released a new album entangled "Tragom Hromoga Vuka". Two new songs "Neba Nigde Nema" and "Tragom Hromoga Vuka" are recorded in Kazablanka studio and together with both demo materials ("Killed By The Sun" "98 and "Serbian Woods" "97) are released on a Cd format in May 2003. by Wolfcult Records. Reviews are yet to come.
THE STONE is currently working on a new album that will be recorded by the end of this year.

Until the next happening...
Bound to the lords of black metal!
Their time is here!
Their time is now!
Slava!
