Biography : The Dead Walk

At a time where image seems more important to a band then music, THE DEAD WALK! are a breath of fresh air, bringing back old school hardcore to the forefront and embracing a time where message meant more than image. Formed in late 2004 from the ashes of Life Love Regret and No Jazz Before The Rumble, THE DEAD WALK! attracted instant attention due to each members long history in the Newcastle and Sydney hardcore scenes.

THE DEAD WALK! is Luke Dolan on vocals, Jon Williams and Josh Brown on guitar, Jim White on Bass and Brad McDougall on Drums. While Dolan spent his formative years fronting influential Newcastle Hardcore bands such as Pitfall, Arms Reach and Life Love Regret, Jon and Brad shared time together in both Found My Direction and Life Love Regret, Josh and Jim also are no strangers to the Newcastle scene spending time together in The Ready Series and No Jazz Before The Rumble.

Late 2004 saw THE DEAD WALK! release a five track demo entitled “When There's No More Room In Hell”, which gave audiences a taste of what was to come. The well received demo was followed with the bands Resist Records debut, “Re-Animation” ep, released in July 2005 and recently The Dead Walk! finished work on their debut album “We Prowl The Streets”. “We Prowl The Streets” is a testament to the bands growth and fine-tuning showcasing all the aggression that their demo and “Re-Animation” had, yet expanding their sound into something truly unique.

Produced and engineered by Lachlan Mitchell (Toe To Toe, Something With Numbers, In The Grey), and recorded at Sydney's Standing Wave Studios “We Prowl The Streets” is a 30 minute onslaught of a combination of personal, political, humorous and gratuitously violent messages over a soundtrack of mid 90's Cleveland, late 80's New York inspired hardcore, clearly influenced by the likes of Integrity, Ringworm, In Cold Blood and Madball.

With their captivating energetic live shows THE DEAD WALK! have supported a number of bands that would make any up and coming hardcore band envious. Including such hardcore legends as Madball, Hatebreed, Terror, Throwdown, Champion, Most Precious Blood, Bleeding Through, Comeback Kid and Parkway Drive. THE DEAD WALK! are showing no signs of slowing down, set to tour with Ringworm in July/August, then back on the road in September for their own run of headlining shows, as well as appearing at the Hardcore 2006 Festival in Sydney.

The band has most recently decided to call it a day, with Josh Mosh leaving the band in March of 2008. In April, the band announced on their official site to end the days of The Dead Walk! after a final show. The final show was Hardcore 08 at the roundhouse in Sydney.
