Biography : The Cold Beyond

One of the originators of Wisconsin's Black Metal scene, The Cold Beyond, was formed in 1998 out of the ashes of Nightworld, Stormblast, and Paradox. The klassick TCB line-up was: S. Ravenlord (Vocals) Void (Battery) Scorn (Guitar) Asylum (Guitar/Backing Vocals) and Stalker (Bass/Backing Vocals). It should also be noted that S. Ravenlord, is the ex-vocalist from the very first WI Black/Death Metal band started back in 1993, Accursed, and Void is the mastermind behind the brilliant harsh noise entity known as Custodian.

The Cold Beyond (originally known as Dead By Morning) is the most violent, and hateful Black Metal band to rise from the Milwaukee extreme metal scene. Hailed for their ferocious and devastating live assaults, The Cold Beyond, ravaged the first two March Metal Meltdowns, and 1999's Milwaukee Metalfest. The band also shared the stage with many international metal legends such as Napalm Death, In Flames, Moonspell, Mercyful Fate, Overkill, and Nevermore.

The band released two very well received demos, a highly sought after rehearsal, and a single for A Technological Cure. The song was also featured on the Visionaries Of The Macabre Vol. 2 compilation released by Lost Disciple Records.

From 2001-2003, Asylum continued alone and released a demo and a solo record under the Cold Beyond name, before moving on to engage in other musical battles.

All of the aforementioned releases were recorded by Asylum, who has since gone on to create a supreme recording/mastering studio.

Thus the first savage chapter of terrible tragedy came to an end and The Cold Beyond was laid to rest.

After many years of frozen silence, S. Ravenlord, recently joined by Jm Sundown, has crawled out from the grave to summon the Cold Beyond horde to battle once more. TCB are currently preparing the release of Deadspeak Vol. I: Tales Of Fire. DS, is a compilation CD of all TCB's demo/rehearsal/single material from 99 and 2000. The band are also summoning the grim sermons of armageddon for a new album to be titled ...And Then The Darkness Came. But while work continues on the new album, the band has recorded a new 3 song Ep titled Forever Burning, which was released in the fall of 2012. Thus a new grim chapter of utter desolation and somber reflection has begun... Uncompromising, and elite, this is grim, ugly, apocalyptic, Black Metal the way it was meant to be played.
