Tengwar was founded in 2000, in Danville, Virginia, USA.

Influenced strongly at first by Iron Maiden and old Metallica, Tengwar has grown musically over the years and has developed their own style of metal that fans of any sub-genre can enjoy, incorporating elements of prog, thrash, shred, and classic rock.

The lyrics are either epic and story-telling or serious with deep meaning (with the newest songs containing more and more Biblical references and Christian themes), applied over heavy grooves, super fast riffs, clean sections, good musicianship, and good song writing - all intertwined for a highly pleasurable listening experience.
