It started all in the year 2001, Kristof (ex Temenos) and Koenraad (Tilarids) started a project called Tilarids, they came together now and than to rehearse but not much more.After they found more bandmembers, Nils (Declaimed, Inhuman Torture), David (auditioned as a bass player for Inhuman Hatred) and Tom (ex The Darkening-new line up & QYON-experimental electro) they started to get more serious and became a real band.
Because Koenraad's lack of time for intensive reahersals, he decided to leave the band and he also took the name Tilarids* with him.
After a few weeks the band agreed on a new name, and Tapetum Lucidum was born. After 6 months of reahersing, they decided to record a first Demo, to share their achievments with others and prove to themselves that the hard work on rehearsings has payed off.The recordings started in august 2003 and after 2 days the first Tapetum Lucidum Demo was released, maybe with a typical Demo sound but still not bad at all.
While they went on rehearsing, the need for a second guitarist, and a keyboard player became greater, due to develop a specific atmosphere in their music.
They found a second guitarist in Bram (Inhuman Torture) who joined the band end december 2003 and in march 2004, Hans (Kilte) joined in to play keyboards. Welcome to the band!
