Biography : Sorrow (FRA)

The American death / doom metal band Sorrow was originally formed under the name Apparition. Under their original monicker they released two demos and a 7" on Relapse Records. When signing with Roadrunner Records they changed their name to Sorrow. After having released "Hatred And Disgust" they had enough material for another full-length which was never recorded in a studio. The band did video record a practice though where they played most of the unreleased material. Roadrunner Records didn't like the cover of Forgotten Sunrise, they did very little advertising for the band, no tour support, no shirts, no stickers etc. Right after the release of their album they were dropped by the label. A tragic story surrounds the participation of guitarist Billy Rogan. Original guitarist Andy Marchione was out with a girl and they were hanging out in a parking lot in his car. Carbon monoxide leaked into the car and both Andy and the girl passed out. The girl died and Andy was in a coma for a week, resulting in the left side of his body being damaged for about a year. He later recovered. During this time Billy stepped in to help the band out.
