Biography : Sombre Nostalgie

Sombre Nostalgie is a musical formation that could be labeled as a dark-death-metal band because of the various influences ranging from death-metal brutality to obscure black-metal. It all begun in summer 1998. Alexandre Lemieux (guitars) and Christian Bart (guitars) played in Spiritual Might in Rouyn-Noranda city. At the autumn, when they returned in Quebec city for attending school, they continued by starting a new band. Along with William Murray (vocals and lyrics), André Lepage (drums) and Simon Larivière (bass), they founded Sombre Nostalgie.

Simon quits the band in September 1999, and it's only at the beginning of year 2000 that Bryan Michaud joined the band. With it's various influences, Bryan adds a funky yet aggressive bass line.

The members of Sombre Nostalgie played their first gig in April 27 2000, at the first edition of the Devilmen Festival that took place at Laval University, Qc. A first french production followed in November 2000, the demo intitled Dans l'Ombre d'un Ange Fou...BR>In March 2001, Christian quits the band. The members of Sombre Nostalgie played their first serie of gigs with only one guitar.

In August 2001, Martin Tremblay (Guitars) joined the band and brought with him various influences and skills that pushed back the limits, with an added harmonic feeling.
