Biography : Social Overload

These are the words that begin to describe the madness of the world through the eyes and heavy metal sound that is the band Social Overload. The band was formed in the U.S. in El Valle de San Fernando in California by Rythm Guitarist and Lead Vocals Gerardo Santos. It was a response to a world torn by envy and war, an outcry for a way out of a world where the walls only seemed to be closing in. With this, the idea of sharing a fresh revival of a sound not so often heard with the metal community, the band was created. Since then Social Overload has gone through different changes in line ups and formations, each adding her/his own quality and style to the growth of the band's sound. It was never easy, but little by little Social Overload persisted. After a fallout of most members the band had to have a drastic change. This gave way to the line up as of 2010. With Gerardo on Rythm Guitar and Lead Vocals, Luis Del Valle on Drums, Roberto Valencia on Lead Guitar, and Abraham Valencia on Bass and back up Vocals. As of now the current line up has been stable and well inspired to continue giving life to Social Overload.

As a result of this current line up, the band has managed to capture a solid blend of speed, heavyness, and technicality, without over doing too much of one particular style. With the lyrical themes being centered mostly towards societal rebellion, anarchism, and personal struggles, it continues to add it's own vibe to the overall scheme of Social Overload.

The band has then released two demo's which were recorded at a house by a close friend, Raul Flores. The first demo was released Winter 2010, entitled SPEED. It contained the songs (In order) Exploit and Destroy, Heavy Metal Hammer, and Social Overload. The second demo was released Spring of 2011 entitled WICKED SPELL. This second demo, which was recorded with better quality had the songs (In order) Highway Mad, Wicked Spell, Defiance, and as a special track a re-release of Heavy Metal Hammer. Both demos helped the band expand their influence through out LA and the San Fernando Valley, including other cities around the state.

Social Overload has been a definate break through for the metal scene in the last few years. Although popularity is not as big as many other bands, the small group of followers are die hard supporters and so far have done their best to catch every show. In return we do our best to support this scene and it's bands the best to our abilities. For them, for the scene, for the youth, and for the future we will bring that hammer down !
