Biography : Sarx

-Formed towards the end of 1997: SARX initially commenced as a project, comprising of various musicians from the local underground scene, naturally baring only the best intentions in mind of making ample amounts of sinful deathly sounds.

- Beginning of 1998: After a few changes in the line-up and having successfully located a rehearsal place the first gigs were played, and only owing to the overall good response and feedback, the project SARX soon became the band SARX.

-SARX contemplate themselves as an innovative DEATH METAL combo which brings all the different influences of each band member under one hat, resulting in "brutal" and technically versatile sounds.

- The most important thing to the band is independence, versatility and the achievment of maximum brutality in their music. Needless to say, that gaining the support needed of a label in order to tour would be very much appreciated and welcomed by Sarx.

- In late June 2001: Sarx worked on their first record named ...Of Natural Rage..." . It"s their own production with a running time of 38 minutes. Around 350 copies have already been sold.

- A six months pause was forced because: Their original guitarist Christian Sonneborn lost his life in a fatal motorbike accident in August 2000. After approximatley 2 months, Daniel "Kensington" Seiffert became their newest band member and took over.

-October 2001: Amongst a great deal of worthy candidates SARX come a respectable 2nd Place at the "Siegener Rock Förderpreis", whilst also being the only Death Metal combo at the whole contest !

-November 2001: SARX again make it into the final round of yet another contest. Once again as the only death metal combo amongst many other good hardcore/rock bands. This time its 3rd Place at the Rock-It NRWs , thus qualifying Sarx automatically for the EUROREGIO PREMIER LEAGUE in Aachen.

-Throughout 2002: SARX gained a lot of live experience taking the stage not only in their own country but also abroad, in turn spreading their name even further afield. They remain very keen on making further contacts to other bands and fans alike.

-In 2003 things looked less promising: Drummer Chaos was suffering from servere pain in his wrists due to inflammation of his tendons, handicaping his abilities to play for SARX completely. Subsequently, quite a few concerts had to be put off or even cancelled alltogether. Rehearsing and writing new material was scarce at the time. To cut a long story short: Chaos did not recover and had to quit the drum stool at Sarx.

Sarx now have a new drummer. His name is Fernando and he "originates" from another locally known underground Old School Death Metal band called REINCARNATED. He played his first live set with Sarx after about 2 months of joining at the Ruhrpott – Neckbreaker Festival, wherby SARX acted as the opener for the festival.

-Immediate Aims & Goals: First of all, the overdue album is now in the process of being put together. The new tracks are already being played live. Furthermore, Sarx intend to further spread their "virus" and name. They are aiming to play as many gigs as possible and further their relationships and co-operation with other bands and organisations.
