Sacra Arcana is a hungarian folk metal band. The music is based on hard rock and metal including traditional hungarian folk music and some classical and irish influences. Hard and melodic music complete with a fiddle. The lyrics are basically hungarian except for two tracks on the first LP which are english. Mostly on the same way as Skyclad was, Sacra Arcana is a bit more complex music with the lyrics about the history of Hungary, huns and hungarian folklore, legends.

The band was founded in january 2001 by Specker Balázs, Szemerédi Katalin and her brother, Tamás. Nagy Márton and Érdfalvi Tamás joined the band at spring. The base concept was to mix the influences of middleages and folk music with metal. The name itself Sacra Arcana stands for the same reason as well. This latin expression means: "sacred secret" or "secret ritual".
