Biography : Revelation (BLR)

Revelation was formed in late 1999 in Borisov, Belarus. Two young men Sergei Ziborov (guitars, bass and samples) and Alex Skurat (lyrics and vocals) decided to combine their talents and create a studio project to play death/doom metal. Everything happened spontaneously.

Sergey had already had some material, and in spring 2000 at the home studio guys recorded a demo tape, which released later under the title "Forgotten Empire" on Eldrich Music Prods. "Forgotten Empire" was perceived ambiguously, but found its audience all the same.

Soon the duo began to create their first full-length album completed in spring 2001. And in the summer of 2001 an album "Expulsion From The Paradise" was released on the national label Metal Records - also as a tape. The album also got some tracks from the demo tape, recorded and mastered more accurately. Two traditions were formed then to use images of the affected women on the art and include covers of famous songs on the albums. Thus, a cover of "Listen To Your Heart" by swedish pop-rock group Roxette for "The Expulsion From The Paradise" was recorded. It really surprised the audience. Since then, the band had not changed their traditions.

A year later, in summer 2002, guys finished recording a second album "The Forms Of Suffering Flesh". Release, compared to the previous one, had some distinctive features. It was released in CD format, and, in addition, featured a number of vocalists. The record was attended by Helen Poyarkova, Nadezhda (last name, unfortunately, is unknown) and Nikita Sholomitsky (Clan). In addition, Sergei and Alexei managed to achieve better quality of the sound, which indicated as a result of hard work and lots of experiments. However, due to personal problems of participants, the album had a two-year delay. Having the desire to evolve, the search of publishing company was switched over to Russia. Revelation received offers from several labels, but accepted the suggestion from Art Music Group. They signed a contract for two albums, and in summer of 2004, "The Forms Of Suffering Flesh" was officially released on Art Music Group. The album had a good distribution, was positively met by critics and listeners. Label and musicians were very ambitious about their next album.

In late 2005, the band finished writing "Different Reality". This time, all texts were in russian. "Different Reality" was published in the summer of 2006. However, due to internal problems, Art Music Group didn`t provide the proper promotion of the disc. Meanwhile, the release surpassed the success of the previous album and received positive reviews. The army of fans grew.

Soon after this, Revelation began to work on the new disc. In the summer of 2006 the first demo recordings appeared, but Alexei had a creative crisis, which resulted his quit from the band in the summer of 2008.

Feeling the urgent need to continue writing music, Sergey spent much time searching for a new vocalist. In winter 2009, after a 1,5-year search, a new vocalist was found. Nick Popov cought the mic. It took two years for the group to complete the work over the long-awaited new album to its logical conclusion. The album received a symbolic name - "Consciousness" ...
