PitchBlack was awarded with ’Best debut metal album’ in Denmark 2007 for the album ’Designed to Dislike’ at Danish Metal Awards, which was shown on MTV’ s Headbangers Ball. The album was released world wide through the german label Limited Acces Records. The band signed with the german label in december 2006. At that time they had amde two demos in their three years of existence. The band was quickly well established in the Danish underground as they won local contests and passed through to national contests as well. Their music has been very well recieved in both national and international press, but they have not yet made the international breakt through, which is the hope now. Since the debut PitchBlack has got new guitarists which has changed the style from being a melodic death metal band to be focused more on thrash and death core. At the same time a lot of the clean vocals has been wiped out, replaced by high pitched screams. The drummer does the backing vocals and even has passages on his own. While lots of bands changes pace and calms down through the years PitchBlack aims to do the opposite.
