Dark, brooding, symphonic, atmospheric and intense... All these words refer to the same emotional state that most lovers of art will recognize. But all these words have alko been used by listeners and reviewers alike, to describe the music that can be found on Nyx Aether's debut-album Entering Into Rebirth.

At the core of Nyx Aether stands singer and main songwriter Mylene van den Weijer, who came up with the basic foundation for the project in 2010. Mylene had musical aspirations for a long time. Her urge to create something of her own grew into a set of musical and lyrical idea's that had a distinctive dark energy to them. The concepts explored within the lyrics would touch upon paganism and occultism, but also on human qualities such as the choices we have to make in life and what is needed to become a truly free-spirited human being.

For the musical side, Mylene got in touch with Tom de Wit (known for his work with TDW & Mind:Soul) by a happy coincidence. After listening to her ideas, he took up the challenge to translate Mylene's ideas into a full set of songs. It only took a few months to create the debut-album thanks to the working chemistry between these two protagonists. The debut-album was called Entering Into Rebirth and was released into the world through Layered Reality Productions in the Autumn of 2012.

Entering Into Rebirth features 10 tracks that span symphonic soundscapes and bombastic operatic moments infused with Doom- and Death metal-esque parts. The music switches between moments of symphonic serenity on one moment to crushing, heavy segments on the next. The album has been described as an atmospheric experience that lovers of dark and intense metal will most likely enjoy.

At this moment Nyx Aether is a project with fulltime members and guest musicians. However, plans are to work on a second release and turn it into a full live band in the future if possible.
